Why Cacao?
“Cacao is more than chocolate, it is a spiritual dimension, an intelligence that we cannot perceive with the mind, but through the heart, the intuition and perceptions. The Cacao Spirit is a keeper of ancient, sacred wisdom. Her spiritual dimension is described as a medicine of the Soul, a medicine of Peace and as a Rainbow Medicine.” The Mayans are one of the main nations known to have been the guardians of Cacao through many generations and maintained a deep connection to this plant medicine. In the indigenous ways, medicine refers to anything that brings alignment of mind, body, and spirit. The Maya commune with Cacao in pure belief that the medicine is a chance to eliminate emotional blockages, so they may communicate directly with the creator of life, and merge the gap of separation between Human and Spirit. Cacao Ceremonies are a spiritual practice that reminds us to explore what it means to open the field of communication through invocation and offerings, but it also expands our practice to listen and receive wisdom.
